U-KISS, the seven member group, is the first artist attached to the largest K-POP concert to be held in South America.
U-KISS will be stepping foot in the ‘Plaza de eventos parque simon bolicom’ next month on the 12th to participate in the 2012 “Los 40 Principales”.
U-KISS is expected to perform 3-4 songs in front of 50,000 spectators.
They will be the first K-POP artist to perform at this South American
event.
This concert will be broadcast nation-wide and throughout several countries on CaracolTV Principales.
U-KISS shared their thoughts on the event an
interview with Billboard Korea. “Recently K-POP has been on the rise in
Colombia, but we did not know that we were the leading the wave. It will
be our first time in Colombia. We are absolutely thrilled to have been
selected”. Leader SooHyun also expressed “to fulfill the duties of a
representative, (we) will showcase the great qualities of K-POP.
U-KISS’s strong and addictive songs will excite the Colombian fans.”
U-KISS debuted in 2008 with their first
mini-album ‘New Generation’. The group currently consists of members
SooHyun, Eli, Kevin, KiSeop, DongHo, AJ and Hoon. They have had several
hits including ‘ManManHaNi’, ‘Bingeul Bingeul’ and ‘Neverland’. Their
newest mini-album is to be released this month.
As the selected representative, U-KISS will
be leaving on the morning of the 10th from Incheon Airport to Colombia.
The press conference for the event will be held on the 11th at 4PM. And
finally, during the concert, U-KISS will present the ‘K-POP Virus’ for
50,000 audience members to see.
